MILO IN2CRICKET FOR CLUBS/SCHOOLS

MILO in2CRICKET

The MILO in2CRICKET program is designed to teach children the basic skills of cricket whilst being involved in an environment that is fun, safe, healthy and importantly, one which fosters the development of social skills and friendships.

When is MILO in2CRICKET run?

Ages 5 to 10

The MILO in2CRICKET program is designed to be flexible to suit the needs of the coordinator and or the participants. It can be run at anytime of the day on any day of the week. It can be run at clubs, schools community centres, indoor cricket centres – anywhere that gives you enough space to set up the activities!

Who Participates?

The MILO in2CRICKET program is designed for both girls and boys between 5 and 10 years of age. The equipment is modified to ensure everyone’s safety. The balls are soft and the bats are light so they’re easy to swing. Inclusion is one of the most important aspects of the MILO in2CRICKET program, and that’s why every activity in the Coordinator Manual has been designed to ensure maximum participation for people of all needs and backgrounds.

Coordinators - Program Information

As a MILO in2CRICKET Coordinator, have no doubt that you are playing an important part in developing cricket in Australia, and helping to make cricket Australia’s favourite sport.

The emphasis of the MILO in2CRICKET program is on fun and involvement. The program is designed to give boys and girls a chance to take part in a variety of activities to develop their cricket skills, physical fitness and social skills, sportsmanship and an understanding of the game.

Whilst you will get all the assistance you require from both Cricket Australia and your State and Territory cricket association, volunteers are the lifeblood of the program and we know that this program could simply not happen without the help of all our volunteers.
To find resources that will help you to run a successful MILO in2CRICKET centre, please visit the Coordinator Resources section of the website.

Good luck for a huge summer of cricket ahead!

Coordinator Resources

The MILO in2CRICKET Coordinator Manual is provided to all Centre Coordinators at registered Centres around Australia. The resource provides a number of lesson plans to allow the Centre Coordinator to step through the program week by week and follow the recommended session structure. For more experienced Coordinators, this resource also contains a wide range of activities that can be substituted for those in the lesson plans. This allows the Centre Coordinators to select the activities that best suit their individual centre.

This resource covers a range of fundamental motor skills important to children’s development, as well as the development of important social skills, both a desired outcome of the MILO in2CRICKET program.

MILO in2CRICKET participants can progress through the program to learn the basics of cricket etiquette and the meaning of the Spirit of Cricket. It is a fast moving and action packed program that helps participants learn about the protocols and basic rules of the game in a safe an encouraging environment.

All Centre Coordinators receive information from their respective State or Territory Cricket Association through specialised MILO in2CRICKET In-services.
