A position in the Statewide Twenty20 Grand Final is up for grabs this weekend when Kookaburra Southern Cricket Association (KSCA) team St Aidans travel south to Cygnet, taking on Huon Channel Cricket Association (HCCA) side Slab Road in the Semi-Final of the 2011-12 Statewide Twenty20 Competition.

The winner will face South Launceston after they defeated Devonport in the other semi final last week-end.

After winning the KSCA Twenty20 title prior to Christmas, St Aidans pulled off the biggest upset of this season’s Statewide Twenty20 competition be defeating CTPL champion Kingborough in Round 2 at their home venue, North Warrane Oval.

Slab Road will be no walk over on their home turf, and will be hoping the road trip is not kind to their opponents, as they look to be the first southern team outside of the CTPL to progress to the Grand Final in this competition.

Play commences at 2pm at Cygnet War Memorial Oval, with the Grand Final to be held on Monday March 12 at Blundstone Arena, Bellerive.
