A commanding century from Alex Blackwell has helped the Lend Lease Breakers to a 134-run victory over the Cripps Tasmanian Roar in their Women's National Cricket League clash on Saturday at Hobart's Blundstone Arena.
Blackwell posted an unbeaten132 off 125 deliveries, including nine boundaries, as she teamed up with Leah Poulton (62 from 66) for a 118-run second-wicket partnership that all but took the game from the Roar.
Alyssa Healy (33 off 29) and Claire Koski (24 off 19) also both made solid contributions as the Lend Lease Breakers finished their 50 overs with a massive 6-335.
Katelyn Fryett took 2-57 from nine overs while Linsey Da Costa also chipped in with 2-62 from her 10.
Facing one of the biggest run chases seen in this competition, the Cripps Tasmanian Roar produced a valiant batting effort as they finished on 8-201.
Erin Burns top-scored with 56 off 66 while Corinne Hall added 53 off 82.
But despite the two half-centuries, the Cripps Tasmanian Roar were never in with a serious chance of chasing down the target after slumping to 3-34 following the early dismissals of Belinda Page (two), Carly Ryan (15) and Da Costa (seven)
