The final position in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League (CTPL) Grand Final to take on ladder leaders Clarence will come down to the final round of Twenty20 matches on Tuesday night.

Sitting in second place on both the Twenty and overall ladders, Kingborough can book their spot in the final by defeating fellow contenders New Town at Kingston Twin Ovals. The Bucks, who sit fourth on the Twenty20 ladder, are one of four team’s one point behind Kingborough who are separated by Net Run Rate.

Still a mathematical chance of booking a place in the final, fifth and sixth placed Glenorchy and  University will face off in the CTPL’s first ever night match under lights at KGV starting at 7pm.  Both teams will be looking for a big win and hope other results go their way for an unlikely berth to take on the Roos in Thursday night’s Final at Blundstone Arena, Bellerive.

With the best Net Run Rate of the four teams sitting on six points, South Hobart Sandy Bay will be boosted by the return of former star and Hobart Hurricanes player Travis Birt, as they attempt to knock off the ladder leaders and take them on again in the final. The most likely of the teams currently not in the top two to make the final, the Sharks will be hoping for a win at Queenborough for a crack at the title on Thursday.

Hobart Hurricane Phil Jaques will make his CTPL debut for Lindisfarne when they host North Hobart at ANZAC Park.  Although the result in this match is insignificant to the Twenty20 competition it holds great significance to the overall ladder. The Demons could get as high as third overall with a victory whilst the home team will be looking for its second win of the season.

A number of local Hobart Hurricanes players will be in action around the venues in one of their last hit outs before the KFC T20 Big Bash League so get to local cricket and see the white ball fly. Matches at Kingston Twin Ovals, Queenborough and Lindisfarne begin at 5.15pm with the action starting under lights at KGV from 7pm.
